Abstract
Three new Mo(VI) peroxo complexes [MoO(O2)(Val)2(IQ)2], [MoO(O2)(Val)2(2-Apy)] and K[MoO(O2)(Val)2(8-HQ)], where Val = Valine, 2-Apy = 2-Aminopyridine, IQ = Isoquinoline, and 8-HQ = 8-Hydroxyquinoline were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity, magnetic measurements, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The complexes exhibited a high to moderate activity against some gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The MIC test showed that the K[MoO(O2)(Val)2(8-HQ)] complex was more potent against all the bacteria tested than the other two complexes.
